Felt Flower Hair Clip

Supplies

Cardboard, card stock or plastic template

Fabric marker

Scissors

Embroidery floss

Embroidery needle

Felt (used felt pieces from Walmart 4 pieces for $1)

Alligator hair clip or pin backing

Make a flower petal template cut out of cardboard, card stock or plastic template- there is no right or wrong on the shape of your flower petal.

Using your fabric marker trace 20-25 flower petals onto your piece of felt. Amount of flower petals depends on how full you would like your flower to be.

Cut out flower petals- you can either trim away the marker lines or leave them on.

Cut a piece of embroidery floss about 1.5 feet long- thread floss onto to embroidery needle.

Make a running stitch into the bottom of the flower petal-string all of the flower petals onto the embroidery floss in the same stitching manner.

With all of the flower petals laying in the same direction- pull both ends of your embroidery floss to snug up all of the running stitches- tie floss into a knot once snugged up.

Trim off the ends of the embroidery floss.Turn flower over and fluff petals into desired shape.

You may need to add a small dot of hot glue to the center of your flower depending on how tight you were able to pull your petals before tying the embroidery floss into a knot.

Cut out a small felt circle for the back of your flower. Hot glue the felt circle onto your flower.

Place a small line of hot glue on top of your felt circle. Add Alligator hair clip or pin backing to your flower.
