1 Corinthians 13:13

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Felt Carrot Tutorial

Next on the play felt food list was carrots. Rachel loves to feed her hopper pony carrots.
Supplies Needed
orange felt
green felt
orange thread
small amount of stuffing or scraps of felt
pinking sheers
wax paper (for tracing)
I drew a carrot shape on paper first. I traced the carrot onto wax paper to use as my template. Do not make a template for the carrot top.
I pinned the wax paper carrot onto a piece of felt that I folded over to make a double layer.
I cut out my carrot using pinking sheers to give the carrot more character.
On both carrot pieces I straight stitched lines that run horizontally along the carrot.
Don't worry if your horizontal lines are not perfect.
With right sides together, straight stitch your two carrot pieces together leaving the top of the carrot open.
Stuff your carrot with either stuffing or scrap pieces of felt.
Cut a rectangle piece of green felt using pinking shears.
Using your pinking shears cut green felt into strips- do not cut all the way through the felt- stop your strip about 1 inch from the bottom of the felt piece.
Fold piece of green felt so that it will fit into the top of your carrot.

Place non-cut edge of green felt into the top of your carrot. Pin to hold in place.
Using a straight stitch sew the top of your carrot closed.

All done!
